760 - Food Service Management
The school nutrition program is an integral part of the total education program, and as such shall be governed by the same principles and type of control as any other division of the school system.
The School District shall provide lunches through participation in the National School Lunch Program. The Director of Business Services shall enter into an agreement with the Department of Public Instruction and the federal government for participation in such child nutrition programs.
As required for participation in the National School Lunch Program, the School District agrees to the following:
That a school lunch meeting federal regulations be made available for all students.
That free and reduced price lunches be offered to eligible students who apply and who meet the federal income guideline.
The Director of Business Services is responsible for the management of the school nutrition program, including the purchase of food and materials. The Director of Business Services may delegate specific duties in relation to the school nutrition programs to the School Nutrition Director.
The School District of Fort Atkinson does not discriminate in school-sponsored nutrition programs on any basis protected by Federal, State, or Local laws.
