ADMINISTRATIVE RULE 342.5
AR 342.5 - Title I
For the purpose of strengthening the Title I program, administrators and staff shall comply with the following provisions:
A. School-level parent contacts will be developed as consistent with Title I ESEA requirements.
B. Parents will be notified that their child has been selected for Title I services and the reason(s) for the decision.
C. Specific instructional objectives for their child will be discussed with the parent.
D. Parents will receive regular reports on their child’s progress.
E. Parents will receive training, materials, and suggestions to help them promote the education of their children at home.
F. Volunteer participation by parents in school activities will be encouraged.
G. Participation of parents with limited English proficiency and parents with disabilities participation will be encouraged.
H. Title I parents shall meet annually for review of Title I programming.
- Parents’ suggestions in the planning, development, and operation of the program will be solicited.
- Parents’ recommendations will be responded to in a timely manner.
I. The school district will, as appropriate, coordinate and integrate parent involvement programs with Headstart, Home Instruction Programs for preschool, public preschool and other programs that encourage parent participation in their child’s education.
The end of the year report to the School Board and to State Title I officials shall include to what extent these provisions were accomplished.
