    342.41    -     At-Risk Program Modifications

Any student of the School District of Fort Atkinson who is sixteen (16) years of age or over and has been identified as a “child at risk” as defined in Section 118.153(1)(a), Wisconsin Statutes, may select to attend the Vocational Technical Adult Education (VTAE) District for the purpose of receiving instruction in vocational and technical courses or general education subjects in lieu of attending high school on a full- or part-time basis leading to the student’s high school graduation. This District shall enter into a contract with the student, parents, and the VTAE District and shall be responsible for such services and costs as outlined in the agreement.

The Board shall monitor the student’s progress toward completion of the program and may modify or suspend the agreement if it determines that the student is not complying with the agreement.

The Board shall continue to offer services to the student until the student graduates, leaves school at age 18, or reaches the age of 20.

A student at risk may request to be excused from regular school attendance at an alternative program other than a VTAE program leading to high school graduation; however, such attendance is subject to Board approval.
